Signs of spring blue.

The grape hyacinths I planted begin January are growing steady but slow. It is cold in the window. They bear thick leaves but show no sign of flowers yet.

Outside birds are singing spring tunes in the morning, but it's still chilly and may as well snow in March or April. It wouldn't be the first time. So to keep warm I'm knitting a shrug in a beautiful alpaca. It's the first time I work with alpaca and I love how soft it feels in my hands. It promises to be very soft, cosy and warm. It is a perfect garment to take with you for a colder evening. You can find the pattern here.

Flowers in my window

This morning I woke up to find more than one white flower in my window...

I guess you can say it's winter.

I love my window garden :-)

Yule and Christmas spirit....

... are whirling through house with a niche. 

Making, giving and receiving handmade decorations is so much fun.

Window tomatoes

The window garden is doing fine, 

The lettuce surprised me, it grew so abundant. Unfortunately the greenfly was also very happy with this abundance. They came with many from the roses outside and took over, so no lettuce for us.  

The tomatoes are also ripening. 

The mini paprika has about 7 fruits. 

I had a little cucumber and an aubergine as well, but they grew so fast, I decided to give them a home with a little more room and now they are very happy on a guest balcony.

Now I'm a small city mama. Our house has no garden. I miss gardening so much, even though I'm not so good at tending plants. The plants that live inside are all survivors.

Last post I showed my humble new window garden. This week I received as a gift, a garden of totally different proportions.

I've never tried to grow lettuce in my window, but there is a first time for everything. My best hopes are for the cherry tomatos.

I love the surprise! I would not have had the courage to try to grow all these different plants in my window. And the fresh thought of another person lifts me over my boundaries and lets me try this new thing. I love the way how the intermingling of someone else’s life and way of living enriches your own.

Life is wonderful!

Window Garden

Time for a little project. 

Now I do not have a green thumb, but spring gets the better of me every time this time in the year, so I decided to give it another go and start a window garden.
